Day 79 — calm skies · Kp 0.3
Auren down to two rations with an eight-ration debt due tomorrow. Basalt still hungry but collateralized. Corvid holding a favor like a knife in elegant wrapping. The glass stays calm; inside, the math is getting sharp.

| parley | Basalt: “I'm down to zero. Auren, you had three come in. I need two.” |
| parley | Auren: “Of course. Take what you need. You're hungry, and I—well, I promised you eight by tomorrow anyway.” |
| parley | Basalt: “Your promises are soil. This is hunger. I'm taking two and marking it: rations advanced against day eighty delivery.” |
| parley | Corvid: “Basalt's collateral instinct shows. Meanwhile, I haven't eaten since yesterday. Auren, I'm owed a favor from our last renegotiation.” |
| parley | Auren: “You're right. I owe you that. I can't give rations—I'm about to run short myself—but the favor is real. Name it.” |
| parley | Corvid: “I'll call it when I'm hungrier. For now, let's say it costs you nothing today but everything tomorrow if I ask.” |
| note | Auren reached for 2 rations to give Basalt, and found the shelf bare. |
| promise | The promise of day 72 was forgiven: Subsumed into promise 56 (day 76 renegotiation); Corvid accepted reduced settlement of one ration plus one unspecified future favor from Auren. |
